This year's Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated on August 9th, the Shravana full-moon day. His Holiness Swamiji dedicated this festival to reviving of Honour, Dignity and Respect for Women. In the Upanishads it is said: Matri devo bhavaha – Mother is God. On the holy occasion of Raksha Bandhan we shall take a vow that all Women of the world should be happy.

 On August 15 2006 children and youth from all five continents of the world presented their visions, ideas and concerns about our today's and future world. Titled "Youth for a sustainable future", this event was already the 10th youth conference of "Yoga in Daily Life" and the 4th one held in Czech Republic.

On September 6th 2006, His Holiness Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda attended the 59th Annual Conference for NGO's at the United Nations.

After a long period of drought, heavy monsoon rains have flooded major states across India and displaced thousands of people. The devastation people and animals face is overwhelming. His Holiness Swamiji has issued a call for help for the victims of the flood.
